I Left My Wallet In El Segundo
Argh! I left my wallet at home this morning. Wouldn't it figure that the day I decide to buy a beverage while on campus I have no money? What's worse, I have to figure out what to do about clocking in at work. Hopefully I can phone my parents and get them to read me the number off of my badge.
American Government went well today. The interesting part was talking about Liberals and Conservatives. I feel for one guy in the class that is outwardsly conservative. You can see him squirm when something he disagrees with is said. Next to me sits a redneck marine that has to engage the Professor with a personal conversation. Which wouldn't be that bad except that his points are ridiculously juvenile. A marine and he can't comprehend why the Department of Defense can't act on the American population without martial law being declared ("...but I took an oath to defend this country from enemies domestic and foriegn.")
On a brighter note, I went to the Philosophy Club meeting last night. It was their first meeting of the year and I think I will join. Things will be tight though. They are planning 2 meetings a month, one for business matters and one for actual discussion of philosophy. I might be able to get by with attending the latter and skipping the former. It isn't as though I want to be an officer anyways. What was really cool was the GA in my World Civ class was there. After the meeting I was like a fanboy talking to him. We discussed the instructor for my World Civ and then a whole slew of topics that had been brewing in my mind. He's a very interesting guy.
Well, that's been my day so far. Now off to read some more about Wordsworth's poetry for my paper on nature in his works.
