I was using a microcassette recorder In British Lit . The first thing to go wrong was that I fat-fingered the buttons on it while the professor was taking roll. Good going. Then, after the instructor talked about one of the Wordsworth poems, I noticed that the reel wasn't moving on the tape. Frustrated I picked it up and shut it off. A few minutes later I looked over it and, after adjusting a few options (1/2 speed, f.play, etc.) I switched it back on. Still didn't look like it was going, despite the red light being on (which it was the first time, too.). I just let it run. Then, as I pack up to leave class I notice how slow the tape reel moves on the cassette. Yep, it had been recording the first time when I switched it off. Just great.Well, at least I was taking notes and not relying on the tape.
