10 Years After

My return to college

The Final Countdown

This morning I took the final test in my British Literature class. I don't think I did great on it, but I did well. I probably scored a B or A- on this test. Considering my other grades in the class I should easily still have an A.

I took my American Government final yesterday afternoon. I did decent on it. I have, I am sure, a solid B or B+ in that class. After the class I went by one of the mobile book units to sell back the text book. At first the lady offered me $49.50 for it. Then she had to call the main bookstore because this was one of the books "highlighted" on her list. She then told me she was mistaken at the first appraisal. Instead of $49.50 she'd be able to offer me $6. I was stunned. That was less than a 10th of what I paid for the book. I declined the offer and, while walking away disgruntled decided to take it to the off campus college store. There they offered me $32.50. Not as good as the $49.50 but way better than a measley $6.

Also, I received an email from my History of the English Language instructor. He advised me that a syllabus will be posted for the class December 21st on his Web site. (This is one of the classes I am taking in the spring.) I replied to inquire as to which book we will need. I explained that I had visited the on campus bookstore and they had no book shelved for the class. He replied this morning with the information on the book and a statement that he had submitted the information to the bookstore, but that he wasn't aware of the process other than his submission. After my British Literature class I stopped by the bookstore and inquired there if they had the book. They looked it up for me since they also checked the shelf and found no book for the class. Interestingly, they stated that the bookstore had not received a submission for the ENGL3200 class by the instructor. I looked it up online and found the first chapter online. I read that later and probably order it online. Amazon.com offers it with free shipping.

I've spent most of the morning studying for my last final, Spanish. I've been tryingto memorize as much of the Study guide as possible since that is where the majority of our test questions come from. I've a solid A in the class now and am confident that I will do well enough to keep that.
